Hush Heath Manor Pinot Noir 2016 (England)

Hush Heath Manor Pinot Noir 2016 (England)

English wine is coming. Winemakers are learning, the climate is warming up and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are ripening! Hush Heath Estate, situated in Kent dates back to 1503. At the heart of the property is a Tudor manor surrounded by 162 hectares of perfectly manicured gardens, vineyards and apple orchards.

The hand-picked grapes were de-stemmed and crushed to the red fermenters. There followed a brief and relatively cool fermentation (26-28°C) before draining, and a short period in tank and 10% in new American oak. Malolactic fermentation took place to add body and complexity to the wine.

Bright ruby red, with a very clean and aromatic nose. Classic cool climate Pinot characteristics with cherry, leather and hints of raspberry. The palate is light and fresh, ripe red berry and redcurrant flavours supported by a touch of spicy pepperiness. Good length, showing flavours of raspberry, black pepper and subtle mint.
