Coffee by Carvetii
expertly source roasted with passion
Choosing a coffee supplier in the first instance can be very difficult. In 2008 we decided to go with Monmouth Coffee Company in London because of numerous coffees we had bought from their shop in Monmouth Street in Covent Garden. Believe me, they turn out some excellent products. Some 12 months later we started to work with Square Mile Coffee also from London. Monmouth had done nothing wrong, but James Hoffman, who founded Square Mile, won the 2007 World Barista Championship and grew up in Keswick and even went to the same school as our two sons.
The local connection was too great. His coffee featured in our business for over four years. Then we learnt of Carvetii Coffee Roasters. James played a part as a consultant in the formation of Carvetiii Coffee who started to roast coffee at Embleton. It made sense to us to have someone locally roasting our coffee. However we weren’t prepared for their passion and support. Working with Gareth and Angharad has been a great experience not for just Wendy and Nick but also their staff.
Their training and enthusiasm has been soaked up by our staff with two achieving full Barista status and two more very close. Their coffee is very individual with a clear style. They like to roast quite light leaving clear early acidity with none of the fruit flavour being destroyed by a fuller roast style.
This is a modern coffee which you will find being served in many of the top coffee houses in our main cities. Carvetii coffee is available in the shop as whole beans in 250gm bags or we can grind to your requirements.
